Local Restaurants & Places to Eat around Newport

Wagamama Newport

Friars Walk Shopping Centre, Usk Way, Newport NP20 1EA, UK – 01633 481218

Visited this branch on January 4th. The quality of food is standard compared to other branches I visited, but what prompted me to leave the 5 star rating is actually the customer service I received from one of the employees there (his name is Jack). Jack gathered that I don't eat a particular type of meat and checked that on a number of occasions with the chef, to ensure that there was no contamination or whatsoever. He made sure that the chef's understood my dietary restrictions and advised us to select alternative dishes when he was unsure. I praise Jack's effort and initiative. Keep up the good work Jack! Well done.

Food is good and staff is very friendly!place is clean and in their new menu i think they revised the wine prices to keep them accessible. Overall a good experience and I go there at least once a month! Update:never ever disappointed. The staff is unbelievable friendly.

Harvester Borderer

323 Malpas Rd, Newport NP20 6EP, UK – 01633 858667

Warm welcome, with staff volunteering assistance with doors as we had wheelchair with us. We both ordered Gammon steaks which are generous portions and we did not finish our side order of onion rings. Service was good and not intrusive. A great choice for an early evening meal.

Lovely place to eat, prices not bad and very pleased with our meals. Our waitress was very pleasant, helpful and made us feel very welcome and comfortable. Would definitely recommend this place. 5star.

UNIT R1B, Friars Walk Shopping Centre, Usk Way, Newport NP20 1EA, UK – 01633 211033

Vegan pizza is delicious! Like the sticker so they don't get mixed up with other pizzas. (I've been places where this has happened). Staff attentive and helpful, but don't rush you. They were happy to accept Tesco clubcard boost code straight off the phone (tell them before you order though). Nice to be able to see the kitchen as they're cooking your food. Have been here a number of times now and they've always got my vegan order right first time (seems a small thing but some places in Friars Walk can't seem to manage this), have provided good service and good food in a pleasant atmosphere. Especially recommend if anyone in your party has special dietary requirements as they do gluten free as well. Ask for the gluten free/vegan menu on arrival which gives comprehensive information about what is available and what ingredients are used. Wouldn't hesitate to visit again.

Food was good and staff were attentive. It was quiet when we went. Some may feel that the drinks are too expensive.
